The Eurasian beaver is the largest rodent in Europe, influencing ecosystems and occasionally causing forest damage. This study analyzed population trends and damage within the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Lublin between 2014 and 2023. Data were obtained from the Central Statistical Office of Poland, the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Lublin and the State Forests Information System. Results showed an increase in beaver numbers from about 100,000 to over 154,000 individuals nationwide, and from 7,400 to over 10,700 within RDLP Lublin. The main type of damage was forest stand flooding, which declined after 2018. Findings indicate, that population growth has not resulted in a proportional rise in damage.
