Well water samples collected in the vicinity of the necropolis were analyzed for the presence of Gram-negative bacilli, their antibiotic resistance, and the levels of selected chems., such as paracetamol, salicylic acid, and putrescine. Gram-negative bacilli were identified using culture and biochem. methods, and their susceptibility to antibiotics was assessed in accordance with EUCAST guidelines. The concns. of pharmaceuticals and putrescine were detd. using HPLC-MS/MS. Varied microbial. contamination and the presence of paracetamol, salicylic acid, and putrescine were detected in the water, but no significant acquired antibiotic resistance mechanisms were identified.
