Streszczenia
The research was conducted on 7 Limousine (125 heifer cows and 187 multiparous cows) and 7 Hereford (134 heifer cows and 312 multiparous cows) cattle herds from the central-east region of Poland. It was stated that the average age at first calving for Limousine was 28.1 months and for Hereford 27.6 months. Over 42% Limousine and 60% Hereford heifer cows calved at the age of 26 months. Most Limousine heifer cows had body weight within the range of 400–600 kg. In case of Hereford cows it was observed that most cows (almost 60%) had body weight within the range of 400-500 kg. Body weight of multiparous cows after calving was included within the range 450–650 kg. 80% Limousine multiparous cows and over 70% Hereford multiparous cows had such body weight.
