1960 purebred Arabian colts and fillies enrolled in the Polish Arabian Stud Book (PASB), born in the years 1988-1997 came under estimation. Were computed numbers and shares of fillies and colts taking part in races for at least one or two seasons in relation to the born ones. Also, percentages of mares and stallions from the successive foal years put to stud after their race career were evaluated. It was found that in successive tested years percentages of raced fillies decreased, whereas respective shares of colts differred. However, a significant decrease of the percent of fillies and colts raced for two seasons or more was observed. Simultaneously, a great increase of mares and stallions put to stud both in relation to the born ones was noted. It results from the fact that currently about 2/3 of Polish Arabian horse population belongs to petty private breeders.
